Remote Dental Billing Specialist (Greenfield Program)

Project Overview Greenfield:
As part of our Greenfield Project initiative, Dental Claim Support is seeking committed and driven individuals to train and develop into Account Specialists ( Remote Dental Billing Specialist) within our Private Practice Insurance Billing and Oral Surgery Business Units. This role is ideal for candidates who are new to the dental industry and excited to launch a new career in healthcare administration. Through this initiative, selected Independent Contractors will receive training and mentorship to support their development as Account Specialists, within dental insurance billing.

As an Independent Contractor Account Specialist in our Greenfield Project Cohort, you'll have the opportunity to build a career in dental revenue cycle management, specific to insurance billing even without prior dental experience. This role is designed for motivated individuals who are eager to learn, highly accountable, and ready to take ownership of their performance from day one. While you will receive structured onboarding and mentorship, success in this role is ultimately driven by your ability to meet clear performance benchmarks and deliver measurable results for clients.
You will add value by ensuring the financial health of dental practices through accurate claim submissions, timely insurance follow-up, and proactive problem-solving. Your work directly impacts cash flow, client satisfaction, and long-term retention making you a vital part of the client experience and DCS's continued growth. Through your commitment to consistency, communication, and results, you'll help dental teams focus on patient care while you support the billing processes behind the scenes.
In this role, you will:
Training & Onboarding Support:
- Complete a structured onboarding program designed to equip you with the skills needed to operate effectively as an independent dental biller.
- Participate in assessments, job shadowing, and guided real-time practice to build foundational knowledge.
- Learn to apply dental billing tools and processes confidently and independently.
Revenue Cycle Support:
- Support claim submissions, working outstanding claims effectively, insurance payment posting, and patient statement processes.
- Learn to apply and implement Coordination of Benefits, applying necessary and required adjustments taken on insurance payments.
- Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies on a daily basis, minimizing any timely filing denials.
- Investigate and accurately resolve claim rejections promptly, reducing insurance aging report numbers and simultaneously increasing insurance collections. Maintain HIPAA compliance and proper documentation standards.

Technology & Software Learning:
- Gain exposure to dental practice management software (server and cloud-based).
- Learn to use payer portals, clearinghouses, and internal billing tools effectively.
- Utilize insurance payer websites, both from retrieving EFT payments, claim submission, and leveraging websites to maximize claim payments.
- Utilize clearinghouse knowledge to facilitate seamless data exchange.
Communication & Accountability:
- Work collaboratively with Training Manager, Account Manager and peers to meet expectations.
- Communicate clearly and regularly, owning tasks and staying proactive with updates.

Success Criteria:
Aging Report Management:
- Maintain favorable aging reports in alignment with expectations set by your assigned Account Manager.
Daily Reporting:
- Submit accurate and timely daily reporting to ensure transparency and task accountability.
Insurance Payment Posting:
- Accurately post insurance payments in accordance with the office's defined scope of work and Dental Claim Support standards.
Annual Certification:
- Maintain active DCS Certification on an annual basis to comply with company standards and demonstrate continued proficiency in revenue cycle responsibilities.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred.
- No prior dental or healthcare experience necessary training will be provided.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage in a remote work environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer systems, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); Google Drive experience a plus.
- Ability to learn new software systems quickly and apply new concepts with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to be held accountable to performance-based metrics.
- Reliable internet connection and a professional home workspace.
- Commitment to maintaining annual DCS certification and completing all required training.
Compensation:
1099 - Independent Contractor (Based on Commission), with the opportunity to transition to a W-2 status ($32,500 base + monthly and quarterly incentives).
